Janie is an experienced Bowen Technique practitioner covering the Frome area.
She trained in The Bowen Technique with E.C.B.S. and has been in practice since 1998. In addition to her busy clinic, she works in the E.C.B.S. office several days per week concentrating on national advertising, case histories and writing articles about Bowen, which have appeared in magazines such as Nurse2Nurse, Nursing Scotland, Primary Care Today and International Therapist.
She has written a regular column on The Bowen Technique in Today’s Therapist magazine for several years.
Experience:
Janie participated in the National Bowen Technique Asthma Research Programme by treating 3 asthma volunteers throughout the year 2002.
This study documented the effect of Bowen on adult asthma and established that Bowen is a sensible and realistic treatment option for many people with this condition. Janie and one of her volunteers were the subjects of an article written about The Bowen Technique and asthma in The Times’ Body & Soul magazine in November 2003 (to see the article, “Kick the Inhaler into Touch”, click here.

In addition to her qualifications in The Bowen Technique, Janie holds a certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education from Gaston Episcopal Hospital (Dallas, Texas), and practiced in chaplaincy and pastoral care there and in Canada for some years. She and her husband moved to the Frome area in 1996 after many years travelling with his work as a career diplomat. They have two grown sons.
